Set Up Your Family

What is a family in SousChef?#

A family is your shared cooking space. Everyone in the family sees the same recipes, meal plan, and shopping list in real time.

Creating a family#

After signing up, you'll be asked to create a family:

1. Tap Create a Family.
2. Give your family a name (e.g. "The Pecks", "Our Kitchen").
3. That's it -- you're the family owner.

Inviting members#

1. Go to Settings > Family.
2. Tap Invite Member.
3. Share the invite link with your family members via text, email, or any messaging app.
4. When they tap the link, it will open SousChef and add them to your family automatically.

Invite links expire after 7 days for security. You can generate a new one at any time.

Family roles#

• Owner: The person who created the family. Can manage subscriptions, API keys, and all settings.
• Member: Can use all cooking features -- recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and Sous chat.
