Your data#

Where is my data stored?#

Your recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and account data are stored securely on SousChef's servers. The app also keeps a local cache on your device for offline access to recipes.

Can I export my data?#

We're working on data export features. In the meantime, if you need a copy of your data, contact us at hello@souschef.nz.

AI and privacy#

Are my conversations with Sous stored?#

Yes, chat history is stored so you can continue conversations and Sous can maintain context. Conversations are associated with your account and are not shared with other users or families.

Is my data used to train AI models?#

No. Your recipes, conversations, and personal data are not used to train any AI models. Sous uses third-party AI providers (Anthropic) to process chat messages, and your data is handled under their data processing agreements, which prohibit training on customer data.

What does Sous have access to?#

When you chat with Sous, the AI can access:

• Your family's recipes, meal plan, and shopping list (via tools, when relevant to your question).
• The screen you're currently viewing (for context).
• Your region and dietary preferences (for appropriate suggestions).

Sous cannot access your email, password, billing information, or data from other families.
