Three ways to import recipes
Import from a URL
- Find a recipe on any website.
- In SousChef, tap the + button on the Recipes tab.
- Choose Import from URL and paste the link.
- Sous reads the page and creates a structured recipe with ingredients, steps, and a photo.
This works with most recipe websites. If a site doesn't work well, try the Share Extension instead.
Import from photos
- Tap + > Import from Photos.
- Take photos of your cookbook pages, or select images from your camera roll.
- You can photograph multiple pages -- Sous will combine them into a single recipe.
- Sous reads the text from the images and creates a full recipe.
This is perfect for getting your favourite cookbook recipes into the app.
Share Extension (from Safari or other apps)
- Open a recipe in Safari or another browser.
- Tap the Share button.
- Select SousChef from the share sheet.
- The recipe will be imported and added to your collection.
The Share Extension works from any app that can share a URL -- not just Safari.
After importing
Once imported, you can edit any part of the recipe: title, ingredients, steps, servings, and more. Sous also generates an AI photo if the original recipe didn't have one.
